STRATEGY & OVERVIEW

The Alternative Investment portfolio utilizes multiple strategies for all market types offshore. These have been developed internally by our Development team utilizing back-testing and forward-testing methods. We have only selected the best of these to implement which are continuously being optimized and improved. The portfolio is actively managed and the investment horizon per strategy differs although the focus is over medium- to long term.

The Alternative Investment Portfolio uses quantitative principles supported by a qualitative overlay. These are discussed and reviewed by the Investment team continuously.

INVESTMENT & DEVELOPEMENT TEAM

The investment and development team is made up of Jason Farber, Dylan Bester, Paul Johnson and Rory Cassels. They are responsible for the key oversight on the Quadrant approach across all markets, implementation and management of overall strategies, positions and risk.

INVESTMENT UNIVERSE

Our Investment universe is made up of the top listed companies (by market capitalization) on the Nasdaq, Top 300 stocks on the S&P500 and selected stocks in China and Europe. We also look at a bespoke list of companies listed on exchanges worldwide.

INVESTMENT PROCESS

We have incorporated the most profitable strategies over the last 15-17 years, having back tested strategies and further refined the process to establish a winning universe of stocks, bonds, ETF’s and indices to optimize the strategies. These proprietary models generate reports that are discussed and reviewed by the Investment team continuously in order to provide insight to make timeous decisions for entering and exiting the market.

All Investment decisions have been enhanced and walked forward in order to be robust across multiple markets.

From a Technical perspective: Allows us to time the market and manage our risk efficiently – Entering and exiting out of various positions by following the defined strategies.
Fundamental perspective: We look at the top listed companies on the Nasdaq, S&P and Global markets. These are also the most liquid stocks listed on their respective exchanges.
From a Risk perspective: We look to provide our clients with favourable risk to reward ratios with regards to Alpha generating returns.

We have the ability to be short, long and hedged and by diversifying investment strategies, we aim to be positioned at all times to take advantage of all market types. By using this approach with a blend of strategies together with sound risk management principles we believe a positive expectancy is created to generate Alpha.
